Dr. Brooks holds five earned degrees:                               B.A. in Psychology,

                 B.A. in Literature,

                 M.Ed. in Education,

                 M.A. in History,

                 Ph.D. in  European

                   History from

                            Auburn.

      State Champion Coach David Brooks, Ph.D., is the Founder, Director,

      and Head Coach of The Knight School. Coach Brooks lives in Vestavia Hills, Alabama

with his wife Donna, an attorney, and his three children, including a 15-year-old daughter

and a 9-year-old son,

both of whom are

multi-degree black

belts in chess and also

Assistant Coaches in

The Knight School.

Coach's 4-year-old

daughter is still a

white belt! Dr. Brooks

    has taught Sunday

  School and has

    served the youth of

       the Episcopal

            Church for 25

               years now

                      and

                  counting. 

For 20 Years,

Dr. Brooks has also taught a generation of Catholic School students in

Chess, AP World History,

Honors English, Economics,

and AP European History. One

of the cornerstones of Dr.

Brooks' teaching is

classroom management,

and he has in fact taught

advanced classroom management to John Carroll faculty.  Those who

have been students

of Dr. Brooks know

that his classes are

highly-organized,

disciplined, fun, energetic,

and filled with

        laughing.
